How is this tweet:

Among others, in anyway, a criticism of systematic racism? The mental gymnastics of her supporters should earn a gold medal.

I live in one of the most racially diverse cities in North America (albeit mostly absent of Africans) My work place is filled with everyone. We all get along, we all crack jokes, we all get through our day
One of the most racist places I have been in my city is our university UBC. The amount of blatantly racist comments I've overhead heard in my very short time on campus is kind of surreal.
These super young lefties all pretend to be woke. But don't realize they are the very thing you claim to hate. If you always fixate on race. You will inevitably become racist. Treat people like people.

The most blatantly and hardcore racist person I ever met was black. I’m white. It blew my fucking mind. We’re in the courthouse, his son is facing attempted murder charges (tried to kill me) and he’s right there telling his son to try and kill more white people.

There was a few years where I had to live in a neighborhood where I was very much not welcome. As a little white girl, I can stand out in certain places and its never in a good way. It's a weird experience the first few times someone says some unprovoked racist shit to you. And you gotta swallow cause you dont want to come off as getting white privlage.
One of my top "white hate is real" stories. I was standing at a park with my then 3 yr old son. A girl-lady (bit older than I was) came up to me calling me a racist, saying I love Hitler, how I probably have swastika tattoos and shit. She was also upset with my apparently current and active part in slavery that ended in 1865. After 20-30 minutes of her endless berating she stomps over to her also small child who is nicely playing with my small child and grabbed her kid by the arm and yelled in his face "you don't play with that white boy! He a racist" and stomped off. Completely unprovoked. I was quietly standing there watching my kid play. Apparently I emit many different kinds of hate crimes.

She loves racism as long as it’s against the group it’s socially acceptable to be racist against.
Some people never learned why it’s fundamentally wrong to treat people the way you wouldn’t like to be treated based on their race, they think racism is only bad when its against black people.
Even on Reddit we have subs filled with people who call themselves “anti racists” that exclude and trash white people + IRL advocate for segregated spaces just like their counterparts did in the Jim Crow era. They think going backwards is progressive for some reason.

On the positive side, I find that it's a great filter.
Anyone who claims "racism against white people doesn't exist" is, in my mind, unreasonable. And if they are unreasonable, there's no reason for me to discuss the issue with them.
Doing so would be a waste of time and energy.

Finding a group that validates their own racism is how racist ideologies continue and continue to grow. HOPEFULLY eventually people will stop teaching their children to hate everything different than themselves. Eventually. That’s my faith in the human race anyway. Or I guess my hope for us. I’m not sure I have any faith in us at all.

46
u/PaladinDark 8d ago
its not totally there fault, they have tried to change the meaning of the word racism by adding power of influence. so to be racist you need to have influence over another race as to slavery. since blacks dont have any influence of whites they cant be racist. its a common tactic communist have done in the past. https://www.nytimes.com/2020/06/10/us/merriam-webster-racism-definition.html
19
u/Clicka_Bang 8d ago
I believe tons of people know how racism actually works here. It's just that when people are using it to their advantage, nobody has the will to talk about it due to it being a sensitive topic. The internet is pitchforks and torches. If you're a target, vigilante justice will rip you in half over anything.
154
u/SinWolf7 8d ago
It's sad that people actually believe that. Which, by definition of Racism, is actually racist.
46
u/Sdomtidderrevnedkcuf 8d ago
I’m nowhere near conservative. But yeah, this whole belief that black people Cant be racist is a joke.
I do get that they were stolen and served into slavery. I get it.
Not every white person is or was a slave owner or believes we are the “master race”.
We can acknowledge the past while not being racist, or can we not?

u/BeyondDoggyHorror 8d ago
It should be obvious to anyone that we judge people by the contents of their character and not race
If it is unacceptable to make judgements of a black personal because they are born black then it should be unacceptable to automatically assume that a white person os the same as a slaver because they are white
If we’re going to consider systemic racism then call it that. Say that is highly improbable that black people can be systemically racist against white peoples. But that’s not the same as saying that a black person cant be racist, as in the word itself without the qualifier systemic.
I hope we can move past this. It can’t be good for black people as a whole to treat every white person as an enemy.
23
u/Sdomtidderrevnedkcuf 8d ago
There’s a lot of anti Asian hate in the black community along with anti gay.
I just found out I’m third generation American, my family has never owned slaves. I do judge people by their character. And I hate most people. Not because of their race or color, most people are self absorbed narcissist assholes.
123
u/TheChickenWasDry 8d ago
I’m black and the fact so many gen Z black kids are taught black people cant be racist only prejudice makes me nauseous, made even worse by some of the hate filled things they spew that they’d be enraged if slung back at them. And the people they’re learning this from get to sow so much hate and division race relations are at a low in the country
47
u/Killentyme55 8d ago
It amazes me how many people, especially WHITE people, that would disagree with your 100% reasonable viewpoint. Hate is hate, no one is immune from its evil and no one can be excused for their use of it.
I was raised on a simple belief: Judge a man by his brain, his heart and his balls, as long as that's squared away the rest doesn't matter. The updated version is to judge a person by their brain, heart and guts but you get the idea. It's a very simple mantra to follow and has served me well.

I took several African American classes in hs and college. All were good but one. I'm white and took one taught by a man from Ghana. SUPER RACIST! He insisted that I (the only white guy in class) admit I was African because he said that's where life comes from. I refused. This went on for weeks. The black kids in class even defended me but the prof would not let up. He taught hard-core radical racist ideology against white ppl. It was the crazy. I failed the class. I quit going halfway through. I should have complained.
But again. 1 out of 4 classes...I guess not bad. The other 3 where pretty cool.

It's an elected position. She would have to recalled by voters in her district, the other board members can't simply vote her off the island.
Also, in Michigan, an elected official can't be recalled within the first six months of their term or the last six months.

Michigan.
This is very amusing to me. I live in Georgia. In the area I’m in and at my place of business I’m the minority (I am white).
The non-whites I work with I see more than my family. At my office we ARE a family. I love each of them as such.
I have neighbors here that are black whom I think the absolute world of.
And yet I live in the “racists south”, however, most all of the tension and blatant racism I see posted on forums like these are mostly from non-southern states.

Racism is the lowest, most crudely primitive form of collectivism. It is the notion of ascribing moral, social or political significance to a man’s genetic lineage—the notion that a man’s intellectual and characterological traits are produced and transmitted by his internal body chemistry. Which means, in practice, that a man is to be judged, not by his own character and actions, but by the characters and actions of a collective of ancestors.
