Discussion Would play a WoW Classic prequel, that takes place either during or before the War of the Ancients?

A lot of people over the years have discussed a WoW sequel, but hear me out. What if instead we got a prequel that takes place ~10,000 years prior to the WoW Classic timeline?

According to the WoW lore, 10,000 years ago, the Burning Legion invaded Azeroth and there was a huge global conflict known as the War of the Ancients. At the end of this war, a massive source of energy sitting at the center of Azeroth literally exploded, which split the landmass into the parts that we know in the current WoW, i.e. Kalimdor, Northrend, Pandaria, Kul Tiras, etc. This event is known as the Sundering in the WoW lore.

I think there is huge untapped potential here. Over the years, WoW has given us a lot of flashbacks from this era, but a MMORPG that actually takes place in the pre-Sundering world could be the breath of fresh air that the Warcraft franchise needs.

Discussion Wotlk - Is it just me or are prot warriors broken in PvE?

Long time WoW player but absolute noob still so this might be a stupid question, but are Prot warriors just busted in Wotlk?

I’m lvl 28 and I’m already critting for 600s on my revenge. Add in the fact that is procs very often by itself, damages 2 targets at once and if I pop shield block it’s up the whole time basically. This one ability has completely turned the tide for me.

I’ve never had any luck in WoW damage wise before except kind of with the shaman, but this is by far the hardest hitting class I’ve experienced ever playing this game. Like I was taking on 3 or 4 mobs 2-3 levels higher than me like they were nothing, have never been able to do that before lol

Question Prot Pally too low GS for heroic dungeons?

I’ve been unsuccessful finding heroic dungeon groups on my tank pally for a while now and feel like I’m stuck. I have a 3339 GS / 188 IL and 534 def (without the elixir of defense). No heroic dungeon groups wanna give me the chance it seems so I feel like I’m gonna be pretty much forced to do GDKP carry runs until I have gear. Am I really that low to not be able to do HC dungeons? Any suggestions?

Discussion Your Fav melee dps spec (wotlk)?

Upvotes

Hey y’all,

I’ve pretty much settled on maining an arms warrior for pvp. I’m looking to get into raiding now on an alt. Although I haven’t tried fury yet—only raided as prot warr.

What’s everyone’s favorite/most fun melee dps spec? I do have a paladin and Druid leveled to 80 with basic gear, but would try something else too with the jj buff.

Thoughts?

Question I just want to PvP - Classic Era or WOTLK

Hi all,

Played vanilla wow back in the day and finding the itch to come back. Retail doesn't interest me so am stuck deciding between Classic Era or the current Classic WOTLK.

My main agenda is to be able to PvP quickly and casually. Whether thats world pvp, BGs or arenas - I'm just looking to get into it quickly. If that was your situation, what would you go for - Classic Era or WOTLK?

Thanks

Vent / Gripe Twinking in classic

Me and a lot of my friends (horde) are trying to level through bgs while questing and every bg there are always a group of Twinks that make it impossible for players just trying to get some honor or extra exp over a weekend. Doesn't seem to matter what time of day there's almost always a group of them. I get that twinking has always been a thing in wow but not to this extent. It's like these people make it their lifes work to sap whatever efficiency and fun you should be able to get from bgs. I know im just ranting but i really wish more reg alliance would q up just to make them more fun and competitive

Question Regarding the Incubus in Classic WoW (bug?)

I have played warlock on retail not that long ago, tried the new Incubus for Warlocks. Voice lines, animations, everything was fine. Now I'm with a Warlock in Classic but noticed that he only has one voice line when you first summon him, he also doesn't carry around his whip at all, no voice when he whips himself either.
I haven't found any mention on Google about it whatsoever. The person I play with doesn't hear him either. Is it just my demon (since I haven't found any other Warlocks with an Incubus around) or is it a known bug?

Question Looking for rare item collector that went by the name "Pocky" on Gehennas.

There was a player on Gehennas collecting rare items. Irc he used a boosted character to transfer between servers. Sold him an item and without a say he transfered ('Player not found' when trying to add him now) to a different server, I assume.

Anyway, one of his holy grail items was a [Darkwood Fishing Pole] as it's a 1/10000 - 1/20000 drop item.

I went ahead and started farming this item after a weekend family trip, actually got the item but the collector is gone.

So if you're out there. I got you your holy grail item.

SOM Waiting for a SoM 2 or start playing regardless

I am interested to play WoW classic era, no HC which I don't care at all, but just enjoying the old vanilla content without any stress. I've heard rumors about a possible new Season of Mastery, but no release date and no confirmation if it will happen really. Should I wait little bit more (like waiting until the Diablo 4 hype will fade) or should I start playing in normal server in WoW classic? It is really worth playing in a SoM server when it is open? I have missed the first round so I don't know how it works and if it is more exciting than playing on a normal server. What do you think?

Question Any hardcore advice for someone who keeps dying

I wouldn’t call myself a bad Wow player. On wrath I play in a pretty competitive guild and have done for quite some time. But hardcore, I can seem to get past level 18.

So far I have a Hunter (Died level 18). Was in red ridge split pulling murlocs and there leash was just not resetting.

2nd hunter (Died level 17) was in ashenvale and pulled the tiger mobs that are like level 19. Did not realise they spawned 2 adds. Mobs proceeded to kill my pet then killed me.

Rogue (Died level 17) Died in Westfall to one of those bird things. Just not paying attention to my health and got slapped.

Shaman (Died level 15) Died in barrens. Stupid death auto running and not paying attention and pulled a level 20. Stupid death.

And most recently a Warlock (Level 18) Died in Ashenvale in the cave with the Nagas. Got too the end of the cave to get the one green mushroom you needed. Pulled 3 mobs. Decided to run instead of taking them on. Pulled extra mobs and died.

I’m trying to learn from my mistakes but most of my deaths seem unlucky aside from the few stupid ones listed above.

Any general advice to help at least get too level 20?

Discussion WOTLK Heroic Plus are Unfun?

What do people think about H+? Long story short my guild died just before P2, I was brunt out as well so I took a brake and have come back this week. I have done most of the heroic+'s 2 or 3 times now both main a full P1 bis prot pally and 4.1k lock, and they just aren't fun mechanics are super frustrating even more so in your average pug. It just seems way over turned for only 10man Naxx loot, Im sure part of it is a ''GIT GUD" thing but when you are play with 4 randoms with almost no real way to tell if they have there monitor on or not just to a dungeon and some 200 Ilevel gear I dont thats a good thing. Been out of the loop for a bit so im just curious what the player base thinks of them over all?

TY
