Discussion Linux reflects humanity
Since Windows and (to a lesser degree) Mac are industry standards for desktop OS, most people don't exactly "choose" them. I grew up with Windows, primarily because everybody else was using it, and I never questioned that. I imagine most people share this experience.
Whereas with Linux almost every user is someone who made an informed decision to use it. There are always reasons and, in most cases, a story associated with it. And I think there's something beautiful about that. It's like the very usage of Linux is an act of self-expression and conveys human personality. Every time you see a Linux user, you know this is a person that sat down and thought carefully about the state of their digital existence.
Anyway, this question has probably been asked many times before, but what was the moment you decided to use Linux and why?

Discussion What's with Nvidia and kernel 6.3?
I managed to completely cock up my machine the other day because it seemed like a good idea to convert my root filesystem from ext4 to btrfs just to see how that worked without planning to keep a bootable system. Ended up reinstalling as fixing was taking too much time.
However, I have done multiple installations since of multiple distributions and all of them had serious issues when installing the nvidia proprietary drivers in combination with kernel 6.3.x. The install I hosed was F38 on kernel 6.2.15 and never had any issues.
Currently running nouveau because the proprietary drivers are just useless at the moment and they are suprisingly useable these days (I do not game, or rarely). At least on the desktop. But still for top performance, proprietary is the way to go. Or AMD, but a new GPU is just very low on the priority list of life at the moment.

Questions/Help I wonder why is Linux better than windows for investing in stocks+btc and for accounting
Yea, as I wrote in the title I wonder why for a platform like Revolut or trading 212 or something similar is Linux better
As well with accounting, are the according software the same like on windows, are there software that are windows only and not compatible with Linux when it comes about accounting?

Questions/Help Does anyone have any exprience with Kube and/or DNS Spoofing? Hitting a snag on something. Thanks!
I suspect there is some kind of DNS spoofing. When I ping any website inside of one of my pods, I receive variations of li372-244.members.linode.com as a response rather than the server I am attempting to ping.
This may be related to the issue I was having yesterday with subject alt names not matchin [*.mytrafficmanagement.com, mytrafficmanagement.com]. I have no idea where these originated from.
This is taken from my reading here:
https://blog.aquasec.com/dns-spoofing-kubernetes-clusters
If anyone has any ideas of what could be going on, I would really appreciate your input!
Thank you in advance!

Questions/Help Virtmanager can’t open window
I recently had to reinstall Virtmanager on my semi-immutable arch based OS, and after going through fixing all the daemons and annoying missing python modules, I finally got Virtmanager to open the main window and display my virtual machines listed in Qemu/KVM. However when I click Open at the top of the screen, nothing happens. I click run and the VM runs but I can’t open a window to view the virtualized display. I can’t edit the VM either because it refused to open the window to view the VM configs. I’ve run out of ideas, does anyone know what could be wrong, or know how I can check under the hood to see why it’s not working?

Discussion Anyone else fears the death of linux?
I know, linux is not anywhere near "death", but just imagine, if 30 years down the road it for some reason did, where would we go?
macOS = it's unix but very proprietary.
bsd = it's unix, open source, but doesn't have the wide support for hardware and software
windows = fuck no.
Gnu/Linux is an unique OS, there's no real alternative to it, if you think about it.
I just don't want it to ever go away, because if it does, I don't know how I'm going to use my computer :/

Questions/Help Is it possible to control mouse by writing in /dev/inputs?
I've been learning a little about inputs on Linux and discovered inputs are written into files in /dev/inputs/
. I fucked around and I could see files changing as I move mouse around but can I move my mouse by changing file?
I tried sudo echo "[COPIED TEXT TO MOVE LEFT]" > event17
but it says permission is denied despite using sudo. I tried same thing with /dev/input/mice
and /dev/input/mouse2
but permission was also denied
